Bullard High School’s Feast of Fools will present the comic fantasy King Stag during November at the campus theater.
It’s about a king who makes his potential brides go through auditions. He continuously rejects them, because they lie during their auditions. He knows they do because he has a magic statue that smiles when someone lies. He finally finds a bride that is acceptable, but the evil prime minister wishes to marry her.
The play has a ton of great characters, like the king, played by Aiden Miller. Miller claims his character is a “very jolly” guy. He also says he’s having a lot of fun and is anxious to perform. Although it’s challenging with all the lines, and this is his first major role, he’s sure it’ll be great.
Bullard drama teacher Mr. Hoff agrees that the play will be incredibly fun and says that directing a play is like “putting together pieces of a puzzle. Everything is a piece, and that last piece is the audience.” He can’t wait to see it all come together.
Another funny character is Smeraldina, who will be played by Savannah Griffin. She describes her character as “very flirtatious.”
“She’s always looking for a husband,” she said. Savannah’s a little nervous, because it’s hard for everyone to remember the script. But she has faith in her friends and knows it’s going to be good in the end.
If you want to see a story about magic, comedy, and love, go see King Stag. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3-4 and 10-12 and 2 p.m. Nov. 12. Admission $8 for students.
