In the new animated comedy The Boss Baby, a suit-wearing baby who carries a briefcase around unites with his 7-year-old brother to stop a corporate plan to create a new dog that threatens to take all of the world’s love away from babies.
A lot of the movie’s humor comes from the title character, voiced by Alec Baldwin. He does a great job of sounding very serious and, well … boss-like. The movie had a healthy mixture of humor, cuteness, and seriousness. Boss Baby is here for business and won’t let anything stop him.
The funniest part of the movie is when the baby and the brother get caught up in a high-speed chase with each other when, in reality, from the parents’ point of view, they are going 5 miles an hour in one toy car. In another instance, a rather big baby is dancing in his crib as if he were a lot older.
Most of the movie explains the basic “truth” of how babies are born. In this version, they are picked one by one. Some are ready to be with a family. Others may be too serious and are sent to training to be a Boss Baby. Adults will be amused since they know the real truth.
The only reason the 7-year-old kid tries to help his new brother is because he finds out that if the baby does his job by stopping the CEO of “Puppy Co.,” then the baby will go away. He doesn’t like the baby, because it seems as if he’s getting all of the attention and love that the 7-year-old used to get. Will his feelings about the baby change? Will he find out that maybe he doesn’t want what he thinks he wants?
The Boss Baby was overall very funny, and I would recommend you go see it. I would say anyone from 7-18 years old would enjoy it the best, but I believe that anyone would find it to be funny and get a kick out of it.
