Nathalie Mena-Rodriguez, a senior here at Bullard, is one busy bee. Not only is she key club’s very own president, but she also participates in 6 other clubs! Making time for an interview was a difficult task, so instead we exchanged text messages back and forth all week.  I got to learn quite a lot about key club.

Q: “What is key club all about?”

A: “Key club is a student run club that does community service quite frequently. We work together as a club and division to help the community.”

Q: “What kind of community service is key club involved in?”

A: “This year so far we’ve volunteered at the Fresno Fair helping with animals. We have worked with elementary kids setting up a carnival and we will be out keeping runners hydrated at the twin cities marathon.”

Q: “Whats your favorite thing about key club?”

A: “Because I’m president I enjoy being able to make the decisions.”

Q: “How long have you been president of key club?”

A: “This is the first year, but I’ve been in key club for 2 years.”

Q: “Has it been challenging?”

A: “Yes it has. I constantly see obstacles that I have to find a way to overcome.”

Q: “What made you want to be president of key club?”

A: “I thought it’d be an amazing opportunity and so I took the chance.”

Q: “What do you hope for the future of key club?”

A: “I’m happy with where key club is at right now, but I hope we will expand as a club in larger numbers and be able to do more community service.”

Q: “Why do you recommend joining key club?”

A: “It’s never a bad thing to get involved with your community.”
