William Leiker is a freshman at Bullard and a member of the Video Game Club, which meets on Fridays during lunch in S51. The members of the club play games and have fun doing what they love. This might be their biggest week, as they’re trying to organize a tournament.
Q. Other Bullard students might say that video games are a waste of time. What do you think?
A. It isn’t because video games can make you smart. [But] for an example, a racing simulator can make you be able to learn to drive.
Q. How long have you’ve been playing video games?
A. I have been playing since I was 4 years old.
Q. Do you own a console? If so, what is it?
A. Yes, I own a PS3 and a PS4.
Q. What is your favorite video game?
A. My favorite game is “Grand Theft Auto V,” because you can’t be restricted from doing whatever you want.
Q. Do you guys do fundraisers?
A. Yes, Mr. Chaney has a snack bar and sells snacks like gummies, corn nuts, chips, and other snacks to be able to buy a Nintendo Switch.
Q. Other than getting better at video games, what do you get from belonging to the club?
A. I get to hang out with friends and have fun.
