Taylor Coss is a Senior at Bullard who will be competing in an upcoming championship for forensics.
Q: How long have you been in forensics?
A: “All four years of high school.”
Q: Why did you decide to get into speech and debate?
A: “I mainly decided because the school only offers one class of law, so this was my way to continue the law pathway.”
Q: Why do you like this class?
A: “Well, I like it because it helps a lot with public speaking, and what I’m gonna be doing in college is a lot of public speaking.”
Q: How do you prepare for competitions?
A: “You have to practice the speeches that you’ve been given to memorize and such. And when it comes to debate, you have to study the case thoroughly.”
Q: What types of competitions are your favorite?
A: “My favorite competitions are probably the speech competitions because I’m better at speech and that’s what I’m going to state for.”
Q: What types of skills have you learned from this class?
A: “Public speaking, being able to memorize large quantities of information, and being able to debate other people.”
