Everywhere you look on the school campus there are tractors, fences and men with yellow hats. We are all wondering when it’s all going to be over. I sat down with one of Bullard High school’s Vice Principal, Mr. Salazar, to get some answers.
So far, we have a new two story classroom building that holds twenty four classrooms. Another two story building, called the northwest building, is in progress . It’s scheduled to be done by the end of January if everything stays on schedule. Mr. Salazar says, “The size of the northwest building will be the main difference. And there’s going to be some CTE (career technical education) classrooms in the building.”
The administration building will be done around June. Mr. Salazar says he’s looking forward to a new office. He said, “I think getting us all in the same building, will be nice because of course, right now when you’re in bungalows, you’re kinda fractured you know? You gotta leave one building to go to another, or walk around the corner to see the other Vice principals or go to attendance or whatever. It’s a lot easier to have us all in one place.”
The library, according to the VP, needed the most work. It will be done around the end of May, and will have new technologies to help accommodate students. It will also serve as a meeting area\lecture hall.
I talked to a student on campus who gave her thoughts on the construction. Hayley Arthur is a senior and has been here for four years with the construction. “It makes it better because I got to experience the new building but it kinda makes it worse because I’ll never get to see all of it when it’s done, but that’s just bad timing.”
It seems that the construction will be done by next year if no new projects get started.
