Wonder Woman, Princess of the Amazon, has been sheltered her entire life at her home of Themyscira. One day, an American pilot crashes onto her peaceful island and tells her about the massive conflict raging in his world. Following her instincts, she decides to leave home for the first time and fight the war to end all wars.

A screening of “Wonder Woman,” which stars Gal Gadot and was directed by Patty Jenkins, led us both to conclude that DC Comics is finally on the right path with its movies.

After the movie, we had a little conversation.

Miguel Montoya: I hope that “Batman v. Superman” director Zach Snyder takes a page from Jenkins. “Batman v. Superman” felt crammed with too many characters and unnecessary moments.

Dominic Champion: Definitely unnecessary moments. I don’t think anyone who’s seen “B v. S” will forget the “Martha” moment.

Miguel: “Wonder Woman” has its cringe moments, such as when the villains kill a large group of people and laugh like Power Rangers villains from a 1990s TV show.

Dominic: It’s a great movie, but it’s not perfect. There are scenes that were starting to feel long, like when Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor started to dance.

Miguel: My favorite part was probably the fight scene between the Amazons and the Germans, when they arrive at Themyscira. Everything in that scene was amazing! The music, choreography, dialog, and acting made the scene stand out.

Dominic: Her theme is probably my favorite out of all the characters. It fits perfectly into her fight scenes and enhances the experience overall. DC finally got it right. Now, hopefully, they can continue it.

Miguel: I second that. DC seems to have finally caught on to what the fans want and need. I’m really excited to see what “Justice League” has in store for us and how it will compete with Marvel comics movies.
