“Cars 3” tells the story of legendary race car Lightning McQueen being pushed out of racing by younger, faster racers. McQueen looks to new training techniques and old friends for guidance.

Let me flat-out say that this movie was absolute trash. Nothing about this movie was good. I ended up falling asleep halfway through, and so did the person next to me.

The plot was extremely generic and can be seen in hundreds of other shows and movies. I know “Cars 3” is aimed towards children, but its makers could have chosen a different story that audiences haven’t seen before. It’s a shame we got a “Cars” trilogy before even one sequel to “The Incredibles.”

The movie lacked memorable moments. Thinking back, I find it extremely hard to pinpoint any stand-out moments that I actually enjoyed. Almost the entire movie was predictable, which made it even more boring.

Avoid this movie – unless your kid really wants to see it. It’s not worth the $12 you’ll pay the cinema. I wouldn’t recommend it even as a rental. Go watch “The Mummy” instead.
