On Christmas, my family and I went to see the new movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It’s part of the Jumanji movie series, coming after the 1995 Jumanji movie. In my opinion, this is a movie everyone has to watch.

First of all, this is a movie everyone has to watch because of how interesting the story is to me. It’s also very easy to understand what’s going on. I won’t say too much to spoil the movie.

The story is revolved around four high school students: Spencer, Fridge, Bethany, and Martha. They somehow get school detention and while serving it, they come across an old video game console called Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. They decide to play it and after choosing their avatars in the game, they disappear into the world of Jumanji.

After they are all in the game, they all literally become the avatars that they chose. The avatars they each chose are played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillian, and Kevin Hart. All of the avatars come with special skills, strengths, and weaknesses that they can use throughout the game. Spencer, Fridge, Bethany, and Martha realize what’s going on and figure out that they have to survive with 3 lives. They have to win the game in order to return to their real world. Their goal is to get the jewel called Jaguar’s Eye from their enemy, Russel Van Pelt. In order to win the game, they have to return it to a jaguar statue and yell out “Jumanji!”

Another reason to watch this movie is because of the humor in it. It always kept me and many others laughing throughout the whole movie mainly because of the avatar that Jack Black portrayed.

This is a must watch for Jumanji and comedy lovers!
