Bullard’s first ever Unified Basketball League team had a truly unforgettable season this year. Our knights were the undefeated CMAC champions and played in the CMAC/NYL championship game last week at Hoover High School. Sadly, they couldn’t come out on top, but they fought and battled as hard as they could. At the end of the game, they had fun, which was the most important thing to Coach Wheat.

“This season was such an uplifting experience for every individual on the team,”Coach Wheat said about the team. He also mentioned something unique about his team, which was the fact that every player touched the ball in every game. This made every player feel they had equal participation in their games. Without the teamwork, the team may have not come out on top this season, especially since almost all of their games were decided by 3 or 4 points.

Overall, the season was a huge success and Coach Wheat, along with the returning students for next year, has so much to look forward to next season because the sky is the limit and our Unified League Team will keep getting better and better.
