This month’s annual blood drive collected more pints than last year’s, leading to long lines and waits for Bullard students as they gave blood.

Originally, the blood drive was scheduled to end after fifth period. But it ended up going until 3:30 p.m. March 3.

Ms. Momjian, who’s the Leadership teacher, said there were two reasons why the drive took so long. There were no blood mobiles, as there were in previous years, and the process for checking in students was reversed. Some students were ineligible to give blood but didn’t know it until after they already had registered and sat in the North Gym almost an hour.

Despite the delays, blood drive chairman (and Bullard senior) Bradley Swindell said, “This was one of the best blood drives yet.”

Momjian said, “We raised 255 pints of blood [last year], so being able to raise 310 pints this year is incredible.”
