The Bullard Book Club participated in the annual Battle of the Books at Fresno City College on Monday (April 3).

Fresno High and Roosevelt were among the many other schools that took part. Bullard finished in sixth place.

Battle or the Books is a challenging event in which students get a list of books they have to read prior to the event. They must explain how much they know about the books.

Bullard senior Kei Kendra Paires, a first-time participant at the event, said it was a “good and fascinating experience.”

“Seeing how much people knew about the books was fascinating,” She said. Since it was her first time doing something like this, she didn’t know much about every book.

Sadly, Bullard did not place in the top three schools, so the Knights did not get a trophy. But there’s always next year. The Book Club participates every year, according to club sponsor Mrs. Lane. So if you like to read, you may want to consider signing up next year.
