Club Day is almost here. Maybe it’s not Christmas, but lots of Bullard students are excited to sign up for clubs on Thursday at lunch in the quad.

Leadership student Sammie Davis, who’s organizing Club Day, plans for it to be different this year. Kona Ice will set up shop, which is new for Bullard, because vendors never came to Club Day before. Davis also plans to have “a new setup,” since there will be no construction in the quad. Sammie explains the difficulties of having to “start planning out where everything is going to go, and that’s the difficult part, getting it all set up, so that’s the organization of it all.”

Davis hopes to have the same kind of heavy student involvement as past Club Days. About 30 campus clubs and signed up to be there during Club Day while last year there were 60 clubs involved. One new club that will be at the quad during the event is the Fishing Club.

Maddie Edwards is currently a junior at Bullard High. She went to Club Day last year and is planning to go and join a few clubs this year. She’s excited to join Pay It Forward and Key Club, which benefits and helps others.

She wants to join these clubs this year because “the teachers are very nice and that was why I joined the clubs”, and since the clubs interest her. Maddie would like to see new clubs at Bullard this year such as Home Ec.

But for this year, Maddie believes that Club Day should have “[m]ore organization” so students would be able to find the clubs they want, faster and easier. As well as how it should be a little bit more “spaced out” due to the crowds that flood the main quad during the event.

More information about Club Day is available in Room N46.
