Fresno State has issued a recall notice for 40 containers of Butter- Spread Regular sold by Gibson Market. The sell by dates are listed due to potential contamination of Listeria Monocytogenes, you may also look for the product code. What is being done about the product? Customers who purchased it are being asked to return the product with the product code of 249, as these are the contaminated ones, to get a full refund. Listeria Monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, symptoms of which include a high temperature, aches and pains, chills, feeling sick or vomiting and diarrhea. If the consumer begins to feel sick they should contact a medical specialist about possibly eating contaminated food. If the customers have any questions they may contact Dr. Michael Thomas Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (559)-278-2061. So far there has been no reports of illnesses associated with the butter.
