As the new year begins, the 2024 election is just around the corner. If you haven’t been keeping up, I’ll fill you in. The presidential primary has just begun this week on the 15th for the Republican party, it was the first nomination contest of the year. The current declared candidates for the Republican party are Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Ryan Binkley. The others that had been running, dropped out. After the Iowa caucus they go straight to New Hampshire this upcoming Tuesday. Which is where the Democratic party will begin their presidential primary.
For the Democratic party the most known candidates are current president Joe Biden, Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson. The first big contest of them all will begin on Super Tuesday, March 5. Which is where 16 states, and a single territory will also get to vote. Other than that, the presidential primaries will continue up until June. Ultimately leading up to election day, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 5th. Will you be old enough to vote this year?
