NFL Draft Full Recap…
May 13, 2015
The Nfl Draft is now over and there were some real surprises this year. There were some great players who went much later then people thought, and some people who did not go at all. All in all it was a great draft for the first year that it was in Chicago.
The most surprising position was bar far QB. Many people believed that the first two quarterbacks taken would be Jamies Winston and Marcus Mariota. Those people was right but they did not predict the quarterbacks that would be taken in the later rounds. Many believed that the third and fourth quarterbacks taken would be Bryce Petty and Brett Hundley. Instead the third quarterback taken was Garret Grayson by the New Oreland Saints, and the fourth was Sean Mannion to the Rams. While Petty and Hundley were taken later rounds, everyone thought they would be off the board much earlier. Petty would later go to the Jets and Mannion would end up being taken by the Rams.
One player that went much later then everyone thought was outside linebacker Randy Gregory. Many Believed that Gregory would go in the top 10 but instead fell out of the first round entirely. Gregory was mixed up in some off the field issues that really hurt his draft stock. Gregory would later be taken by the Dallas Cowboys however in the second round. One player who was not drafted at all was offensive tackle La’el Collins. Collins was rated as one of the best tackles in the draft but much like Gregory was caught in off the field issues. At least Gregory was drafted, Collins was not taken by a team at all. Collins was also taken by the cowboys as a free agent. It sounds like the Cowboys got some real steals this year.
Overal,l this year’s draft was great one in the city of Chicago. There were some pleasant surprises and some real head scratchers, and those make the most entertaining drafts. The full first round recap is available as well for a full recap of the other big name players. For now we can just wait to see if these rookies will perform in the big leagues.
