Recently, the NFL Divisional Round took place. Some games were really intense and some were blowouts. Four games took place to see who would be in the conference championship.

The first game was between the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons pulled ahead in the first winning by only one. Both teams were unable to really score against the other team. The Eagles came back and scored 6 points in the second half; they shut down the Falcons and did not let them score at all. With one minute left and the Falcons two yards away from a touchdown, the Falcons went for it on 4th down. Matt Ryan looked for someone with pressure heavy on him. He lobs it to Julio Jones, the number 1 wide receiver for the Falcons, who then  drops it in the end zone. The Eagles took the win with 10-15.

The second game was between the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots. The first quarter of the game was looking surprisingly good for the Titans (0-7), but that didn’t last long. By halftime, the score was 21-7 with the Patriots were leading. After that, it was all downhill for the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots won with a score of 35-14. Tom Brady ended the game with over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns– a great game for Brady.

Two more games took place following the previous two. One of them was the New Orleans Saints vs Minnesota Vikings game. This game wasn’t really interesting until later in the game. At halftime, the Vikings were beating the Saints 0-17, shutting Drew Brees down. The game was looking bad for the Saints early. The 3rd quarter showed life from the Saints as they scored their first touchdown of the game. The 4th quarter is where it got very interesting. The New Orleans Saints managed to rally up and pass the Vikings 21-20. With 1:34 left in the game, the Vikings kicked a 53-yard field goal and took the lead 21-23. The Saints got the ball and Brees led his team to a field goal with 29 seconds left, and the Saints retained the lead 24-23. With 10 seconds left, the Vikings’ Case Keenum threw the ball to Stefon Diggs who managed to score a touchdown to take the lead back and win the game! It was an amazing play for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings won 24-29 with Case Keenum throwing for over 300 yards.

The final game of the NFL Divisional Round was the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars took an early lead and by halftime, the score was 28-14 Jags were up. In the 3rd quarter, the Steelers made a comeback and at the end of the 3rd, it was 28-21. Although the Steelers tried to make a comeback in the 4th quarter, the Jaguars kept increasing their lead. The final score was 45-42, a high scoring game.

On Sunday, 1/21, the Jaguars played and lost to the Patriots. The Vikings lost against the Eagles in the second game.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be going up against the New England Patriots at the Super Bowl LII, which will take place on February 4th, 2018.
