As March begins there is once again many holidays to come. To be more specific, the whole month of March is dedicated to Women! Women’s History Month is an annual holiday that celebrates and highlights the contribution of women in history and daily life. In addition, there’s also an entire day dedicated to them as well!

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8th. This day was first created to rise support in women’s rights, equality, and end of discrimination. The holiday was first pushed for in 1910 by a German feminist at an international conference of socialist women. But since those times were so hard for women, they weren’t quite heard yet. In 1975, the United Nations began commemorating the holiday. But finally, 2 years later its General Assembly officially recognized the holiday.

This holiday is made to recognize all of women’s achievements and feel for their struggles. Women make such great contributions in society every single day. Sometimes being completely overlooked. Make sure to thank all the women in your lives! Today and every day. Although this day and month specifically highlights them, it’s best to be appreciative every day of the year, as they continue to make contributions.
