Movie of the year? My personal review of “Dune part ll”

Frank Herbert’s novel came to life! In Dennis rodman’s vision of Dune. The first movie was excellent, a great introduction into the dark gloomy dystopian universe of Dune, ending on a cliffhanger it made you yearn for more, itching to know about what is going to happen next.

in the sequel. Timothee Chalamet performance is outstanding, the amount of emotion in his voice brought me to tears. He really brings the character of Paul Attredeis to life. The movie begins right where the first movie left off. Paul and his mother seek refuge with the Freemon people in the beautifully shot Arrakis desert. The vibrant oranges and reds along with the sand, and the lighting complement each other perfectly. The cinematography in this movie was superb, some of these shots could be paintings. The pacing in this movie is beautifully done, it is not any longer than it needs to be, and the buildup of the last battle was insane. The movie dumps load of information on you, but it is directed in a way that does not confuse you. Make no mistake, the plot of this movie is difficult at times to understand, a bunch of information is glossed over for us to figure out with little to no exposition. That is my only complaint about the movie. The fighting is an upgrade from the first one as this movie is filled with action. The grand explosions and the face paced one on one combat is spectacular. I was absolutely blown away by the antagonist, the sheer brutality of Austin Butlers character, He is an insane sociopath wanting nothing more than to “fight a good fight” often disregarding his own safety for the thrilled of combat.  This movie is great, and I recommend it! Make sure to watch Part 1 first.
