On February 4, 2024, at 5:00 PM PST, the 66th annual Grammy awards took place with the host of the show being Trevor Noah. These nominations for this Grammys honored the best recordings, compositions, and artists between the times of October 1st, 2022, to September 15th, 2023. By the end of the night, the artist Phoebe Bridgers had the most wins, and to be precise, four trophies in total. Many other awards were also given out throughout the night and multiple artists were recognized and put in the spotlight.

Many highlights and performances took place during the Grammys, along with the thoughtful and shocking speeches. On the topic of speeches, Jay-Z gave one while accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. His speech was composed of criticism towards the Grammys, describing their inconsistencies in giving out honorable mentions to Black artists. Performance wise, one highlight is when Tracy Chapman took the stage to perform her “Fast Car” with Luke Combs who did a cover on the song, that is as of now, a top hit. Another huge highlight of the night that had fans going wild was Taylor Swift announcing her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department” that is to be released on April 19th. This isn’t all though; Taylor Swift broke a record of receiving four album of the year Grammys, making this one of her biggest nights yet. The other incredible nomination that was given out was the song of the year Grammy, which was given to the song “What Was I Made For?” for the film “Barbie” sung by Billie Ellish. One last big night nomination handed out was record of the year who was given to Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” album. All in all, this year’s Grammys did not fail to capture pop music and many artists for their effort and hard work they’ve put into their career.
